Obituary for William "Bill" Currence Jr.

William “Bill” Currence Jr. passed away on September 20, 2022 at the age of 78, in Myrtle Beach, SC. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with unwavering positivity and determination. Bill maintained a spark of charm that warmed those around him, all the way up to the very end.

Born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Bill grew up in a military family and lived in a number of locations around the country. After attending Virginia Military Institute, Bill met his first wife Pam at the University of West Virginia. Bill spent much of his adult life in Pittsburgh, PA working in the metals manufacturing and recycling business. Bill spent the latter part of his life in Myrtle Beach, to be closer with his youngest children. There, Bill married his wife Sally and thoroughly enjoyed his semi-retirement while keeping busy with his family, friends, and automotive restoration business.

As a Christian, Bill relied on his faith and his Guardian Angel to guide him through the ups and downs of life. His favorite passage was Psalm 23. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

Bill is pre-deceased by his first wife Pam Currence and daughter Shelby LeDuc. He is survived by his wife Sally Currence, sons Michael Baker, Joshua Currence and Jonathan Currence, and daughters Kaitlyn Bradley and Mary Alice Hewett.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a future date for family and friends.

Per his wife Sally's request, please do not send flowers. Instead, please consider making a donation directly to Embrace Hospice House (175 Village Center Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579).
