John Anderson Obituary

Our adoring father, JOHN MICHAEL "MIKE" ANDERSON (80) of Rupert, West Virginia, was welcomed into heaven by his loving grandparents, Paul R. & Gladys Anderson, on November 3, 2023 following a short illness.
Mike is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marilyn K. Anderson, and their five children, Sean (Courtney) Anderson, Elizabeth (Joshua) White, Lindsey Anderson, Lara Anderson and Jordan Anderson and two elder sons, Clay Anderson and Jason (Starla) Anderson. Dad was so proud of his five grandchildren, Coleman (Lauren) and Ella Anderson, Layton and Harrison Walkup and Cameron Ross, along with the new arrival of his first great grandchild, Brooks Anderson.
Dad graduated from WVU Law School in 1970 and settled his law practice in Rainelle, West Virginia. He was a proud attorney and talented litigator. His legal talents spanned almost 55 years. He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Asbury, WV. Dad was also a dedicated WVU Football fan and enjoyed watching games both in person and at the Pendleton's home. Our dad was a loyal friend and a hilarious travel buddy who always enjoyed a great trip.
Anyone who knew our dad knew of his love for his children. Anywhere he went, he bragged on all of his kids. He devoted his life to taking care of us and making sure everyone knew just what we were all up to in life. Secondly, dad relished his role as a grandfather. From Disney Trips with Cameron to Christmas with Layton and Harrison, along with watching Cole get married, dad always put his family first.
The loss of our father will be felt and shared throughout our entire community. Dad never knew a stranger and never missed an opportunity to help those in need. His larger than life presence will forever be unsurpassed.
We invite those who loved our father to please join us in celebrating a life well lived at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Mr. Mark Agee officiating.
Family will receive visitors from 1 p.m., until time of service at the funeral chapel.
